Ms. DanNi Zhao, 28, is a Senior Associate and has been with 2thePoint since September of 2005.
Ms. Zhao is actively involved in all the stages of our
assignments and transactions, and is also responsible for our
industry analysis and market research activities. She has
substantial valuation expertise for privately-owned companies in
a wide variety of industries.
Ms. Zhao has participated in various types of sell-side and buy-side mandates, in the execution of private placements, in the
development of strategic partnerships between Asian and
European companies, and in the establishment of a Mauritius-based private equity fund to carry-out investments in biofuels in
Her industry expertise include in particular: CSP and PV solar energy, biofuels and co-generation, gold
and coal mining, traditional Chinese medicine, construction & infrastructure, asset & wealth management,
functional&sport nutrition, and lingerie.
During her time at 2thePoint, Ms. Zhao has served clients from a wide range of ountries, including
Switzerland, China, Hong Kong, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Croatia, Dubai, and India.
More recently, Ms. Zhao was responsible for establishing our offices in Singapore and Hong Kong
- where she serves as a Director. She has also been invited to speak about strategic partnering with
European companies at a Private-Equity China conference in Shanghai.
Before joining our Firm, Ms. Zhao was engaged in a Novartis’ project assisting IT consultants in
investigating ways to make a more effective use of internet as marketing and working-tool platform.
She holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Business and Finance Switzerland, graduating
with the highest GPA of her class.
Prior to her relocation to Switzerland, she completed secondary school education at Raffles Girls’
School in Singapore - as she was awarded, while attending Dongshan Middle School in Guangdong,
People’s Republic of China Pre-University Scholarship for excellent academic standing by Singapore’s
Ministry of Education.
Ms. Zhao is a Chinese citizen, grew-up in Guangdong and Singapore, and has been living in
Switzerland since 2001.
She is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and Hakka Chinese, and also has good command of Teochew and
Hokkien Chinese. She is also fluent in English and German.
Mr. Alexander Galimberti, 23, joined
2thePoint as Junior
Associate in September of 2009.
The main duties of Mr. Galimberti include carrying-out extensive market research; valuation-driven work; financial modeling and analysis; preparation of long-/short-list of potential targets; and the identification as well as preliminary contacts with potential
buyers and investors.
He also assists in the preparation of client and transaction-driven
presentations, and participates in the preparation of data-rooms
and execution of due-diligence related activities.
Main industries covered so far include the construction industry
in Switzerland, the frozen-food business in Italy and Germany, global gold mining, and solar power
As an ad-hoc task, Mr. Galimberti was responsible for the comprehensive research of the banking
system across various Asian countries and the related preparation of teaching material for a 3-day
corporate finance seminar carried-out by our Firm for Vietnamese bankers.
Based on his strong desire to further improve his distinctive Chinese language and cultural skills, Mr.
Galimberti has taken a leave of absence and is completing a management trainee program of a logistic
company in Beijing. During this time, he continues to support the business-development initiatives 2thePoint in China and the region at large.
Prior to joining our Firm, Mr. Galimberti worked as summer intern/analyst at Emerald Hill Capital
Partners in Hong Kong, and completed internships at: Customer Strategy Consulting as well as at
Zinch.com in Princeton (New Jersey); Atletico International of WPP Group in Barcelona; and Grey of
WPP Group in Düsseldorf.
Mr. Galimberti holds a Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies from Princeton University, USA. In
addition, he attended the summer program Babson Business Edge at Babson College, Massachusetts,
USA on a scholarship where he won Team Leader of the Wining Business Plan Competition, and also
visited an intensive 3-months long Chinese language program at Beijing Normal University.
He completed his high school education at Harrow School in the UK, where he also acted as School
Prefect and as Head of House. In 2005 he received the Best Engineering Project for South East England
award by the British Association for the Advancement of Sciences, and he also successfully completed
the program and received the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award.
Mr. Galimberti is a German citizen, was born and raised in Switzerland, Liechtenstein and the UK.
He is English and German bilingual, is fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and Spanish, and has good
command of Italian.
